Kelly signed the contract in May 2006 after being contacted by WWE representatives regarding a developmental territory called Ohio Valley Wrestling. She initially began her time with the WWE as a referee and announcer before switching to wrestling.

In one of her very first fights, she took part in a Divas Battle Royale match, which she ultimately lost, and in late 2007, she was chosen to compete in Florida Championship Wrestling.

Developmental territories (2006–2007)

John Laurinaitis, a representative of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), saw Blank in 2006 while she was working as a model and expressed interest in signing her to a contract.

Her modeling agency was contacted by WWE, who then encouraged her to try out for their developmental promotion, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW).

She was given a contract even though she had no prior wrestling experience, and she signed it in May 2006.

Even after being promoted to the main roster, she continued to travel once a week to Louisville, Kentucky, the home of OVW, to work shows as a wrestler and subsequently as a ring announcer and referee.

On June 13, 2006, she made her debut on the first edition of the weekly television show, making her the youngest Diva on the WWE roster at the age of 19.

Sandman took the mic and challenged Test, Knox, and Kelly to a six-person mixed tag team battle before Tommy Dreamer and Sandman were able to enter through the crowd. In the end, Dreamer, Sandman, and Wilson defeated Kelly, Knox, and Test.

In September, Kelly and Knox advanced into a plot involving CM Punk, during which Kelly grew fond of him and flirted with him while Knox grew resentful of her. As a result, Knox and Punk engaged in combat, with Kelly supporting Punk.

In a mixed tag team match at December to Dismember, Kelly and Knox competed against Ariel and Kevin Thorn. Knox refused to join them and eventually left Kelly.In her opening singles bout on the ensuing ECW episode, Kelly defeated Ariel with a roll-up.

After that, Knox entered the ring with flowers, but instead of terminating their romance, he gave her a manufactured injury that prevented her from appearing on television for six weeks. He also ended up hitting her with his trademark swinging reverse STO.

On January 16, 2007, she made a comeback to declare her newfound independence and bring back Kelly’s Exposé. The following week, she formed Extreme Exposé alongside Layla and Brooke.

Various storylines and championship pursuits (2008–2011)

After being transferred to the Raw brand in July, Kelly made her debut there by partnering with Mickie James to defeat Layla and Jillian Hall.

She met Beth Phoenix often in both singles and tag team fights with a variety of partners, including Mickie James and Candice Michelle, and rapidly got embroiled in a feud with her.

Kelly entered into a conflict with Phoenix’s ally Jillian Hall in September. In a five-on-five elimination match at the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November, Kelly was a member of the winning side.

She eliminated Victoria during the competition before being defeated by Maryse. The next month at the Armageddon pay-per-view, Kelly defeated Hall, Maryse, Victoria, and Natalya with the help of Maria, Michelle McCool, and James.

Team Raw, which consisted of Kelly, Gail Kim, and Melina, fell against Team SmackDown at the Bragging Rights pay-per-view in October (Phoenix, Natalya, and McCool).
