Despite not receiving the required backing from the record label, he chose to terminate his contract with Ruthless Records.

Together with his friend Damien Ritter, he founded the record label Funk Volume and included Ritter’s younger brother SwizZz, with whom he released the mixtape Haywire.

Due to contractual conflicts with Ruthless Records, the album was distributed online. It was later deemed “gold” because it had been downloaded over 100,000 times.

In November 2010, he released his second album, “Raw,” and embarked on a nationwide tour to promote the album. The album’s tracks “Nocturnal Rainbows” and “Sag My Pants” became immensely popular.

The “Sag My Pants” video on YouTube had over 37 million “views.” The next year, he was included in a widely distributed mobile rap battle game.

Along with the staff of his label, “Funk Volume,” he toured the United States, Europe, and Australia to promote his album and the message it conveyed.

The album debuted at number 76 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold over 12,000 copies in its first week of release.

His fourth album, “Pound Syndrome,” was released in July 2015 amid speculation that he was planning to leave rapping and go to Australia. This was the last CD issued by “Funk Volume” before he and Damien Ritter parted ways in 2016 and the firm shut down.

The album peaked at number seventeen on the Billboard 200 chart. Through his own label, Undercover Prodigy, he released “Ill Mind of Hopsin 8,” followed by “No Shame” and the hit single “All Your Fault.”
